Code In The Dark
Anyone who has sat at computer coding for more than an hour knows it kills your eyes. I think we’ve all grasped that it’s the brightness, so we try reducing the brightness of out screens. That works, but when you need to edit an image and need optimum colour setting you need to adjust the brightness once again.
You could always use a second screen, but that’s just more work for your computer and could cost money to get the second screen.
The third option is… invert your coding colours. Make the background black, letters white and everything else. All good code editors will let you change the colours and fonts of your coding environment.
I use (and love) Coda. All I did was invert my colour scheme. You’ll need to click:
Coda / Preferences / Colors (tab, up top) and click ‘Use Inverted Colors’

You can easily edit the individual language’s colours if you decide they’re not quite strong enough.
It might just save your eyes.
